Customs Details
The following goods may be imported into Belarus without customs duty: 200 cigarettes or 200 g of tobacco products; 1 liter of alcoholic beverages and 1 liter of beer; a reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use; other goods up to total value of EUR 1000.
Note: on entering the country tourists have to fill out a custom declaration form, which must be retained until departure.
This records article intended for personal use, including currency and valuables. Customs inspection can be long and detailed.
• Prohibited imports: Military weapons and ammunition, narcotics, pornography.
• Prohibited exports: securities, state loan certificates, lottery tickets, works of art and antiques (unless permission has been granted by the Ministry of Culture)
Documents for traveling to Belarus
To enter Belarus you will need the following documents:
1. a valid passport valid for at least 6 months past your scheduled date of departure
2. tickets for return or onward travel
3. a valid Belarusian Visa
How to get a Belarusian Visa
To get a Belarusian visa you will need:
1. a valid passport
2. a completed visa application form
3. an invitation or booked accommodation vouchersc
A Belarusian Visa may be obtained through the Belarusian embassy or consulates (if any) in your home country. Visas take about two weeks to get , but some embassies will do an express visa in 48 hrs. If there is no Belarusian embassy or consulate in your home country, you can obtain visa at the airport in Minsk (it may be cheapest way). You will need to show your visa when staying at the hotel and buy the tickets.
Belarusian Visas
There are three kinds of Belarusian Visas:
1.Tourist Visa.
The tourist visa allows you stay up to 30 days. And since 1st of January 2005 if you get this type of visa you can cross Belarusian border 2 or 3 times.
To get a tourist visa you will need an invitation and voucher from our company (or from our partner in your country) showing a reference number for the visa. The travel company will need to know:
Your full name
Your official nationality
Your passport number and date of birth
The cities you intend to visit during your stay in Belarus
The date of arrival and departure from Belarus
2. Business visa.
The business visa allows you to stay for up to 90 days. These are harder to get. You can get a double entry version. It is also possible to get a multi – entry business visa, which allows you unlimited entries. If you are a guest of a company based in Belarus, you need an official invitation from organization authorized to invite business visitors to Belarus.
3. Private Visa.
The private visa allows you to stay up to 3 months; however, extensions are common in Belarus.
The applicant should provide a photo, fill in the Application Form and pay the Consular fee:
• For passengers arriving from countries where there is no Belarusian Consulate
Business/Private Visa 100 USD
Tourist Visa (individual) 45 USD
Tourist Visa (group, per person) 30 USD
• For passengers arriving from countries where there is Belarusian Consulate
Business/Private Visa 140 USD
Tourist Visa (individual) 60 USD
Tourist Visa (group, per person) 50 USD
The consular fee is only payable in cash (in USD) at the Consular Desk in the Airport.
